Memento is the mysterious story of Leonard who suffers from short term memory.

Memento was Nolan's first proper movie.Bigger budget,a 2hr running time, more recognized actors compared to Following.

Memento is a psychological thriller film. But the way it is presented is what makes it so amazingly unique. It starts off with the end of the story [Leonard killing a person called Teddy] ,and goes backwards, each scene cutting off to show a black and white scene which is actually the starting of the story.Confused?.Well,this is Nolan's trademark,Non-linear timelines.Just as his previous movie,Following,he makes the viewer juggle between the timelines but in such a way that he never loses the focus of the plot.So the end turns out to be the middle of the story, but still it shocks us.

The short term memory that Leonard suffers from is called Anterograde amnesia, and many medical experts have cited Memento as one of the most realistic and accurate depictions of the condition.Because of the way the movie is shot, just like Leonard, the viewers too have no idea what happened before a particular scene..Only by going forward do we find out the mysteries of the characters.

Guy Pearce does a wonderful job as Leonard.
