The movie is about a Driver(Ryan G) who works not only as a stunt driver and a mechanic but also as a getaway driver.But things go haywire when one mission goes bad.

Ryan Gosling is one of the best actors of 2011 (All 3 movies in which he has acted are critical as well as commercial hits).
In Drive,Ryan plays a nameless character only known as Driver/Kid.The movie is quite good but its more artistic than a fast paced action movie.Many scenes are just long and quite and the eyes do much of the talking.
The first half is peaceful compared to the second half which goes completely brutal.And even then most scenes are quite slow.
The cinematography is beautiful and the action scenes are brutal but nicely shot.
Ryan G gives an excellent performance.
A one time watch for casual viewers,while those who appreciate art can handle multiple viewings.
