The cast is good.Gerard Butler gives in a good performance and supported by Aaron ,they both give the movie a charged atmosphere.Morgan Freeman is great too.

The story for Olympus HF ,is not one to be closely examined.Its an action movie with not much priority for story.The story they do use is pretty decent but very over the top.Its hard to believe majority of the stuff that happens in the movie.Not to mention it has a cliched president character.Much of the dialogue are way too cheesy.

Direction by Antoine is good.He has maintained a good pace for Olympus and 2hrs easily slip by without the movie getting dull at anytime.With a good cast and some nice action scenes ,hes able to cover up for the lacking story.

Watching Olympus HF ,reminded me of the good ol Die Hard Part1.This had all the ingredients of such a movie and is a 100 times better than the recent Die Hard movies.

Overall ,Olympus HF is a good timepass action movie.It isnt anything great but will please those who love movies like Die Hard.

Amazing Spiderman 2 is one sequel that is piling the story with major characters.Other than the main 2 leads ,Peter Parker/Spidey and Gwen from the first movie ,we have Mary Jane and 3 villians Electro ,Harry Osborn ,Rhino.

Mary Jane's addition to the story was a bit weird considering ,Peter-Gwen relation was just starting off by the end of the first movie.But now Shailene ,who plays Mary Jane ,revealed that her scenes were being cut from the movie.As of now ,its not sure whether Shailene is being dropped from the movie completely,or if her scenes are being transferred for the Amazing Spiderman 3.

As one character is dropped off ,another was sort of revealed! Felicity Jones joined the cast for a role that has not yet been revealed to the public.But in a recent interview ,she mistakenly "sort of" admitted that she was going to play Black Cat.The best way to describe Black Cat is, she is a Marvel version of DC's Catwoman.Sometimes a villain ,sometimes a heroine ,Black Cat is in the grey area.

So it takes the number of villains in the sequel to 4 ,which i think is the most number of villains in a superhero movie (except the X-Men series).And as time has told us ,if a movie exceeds 2 villains ,its headed towards disaster.

Terminator reboot gets a date!

The Terminator series will be rebooted and the first part of the newly planned trilogy will be released on June 26, 2015.
After the poor response to Terminator Salvation ,and the legal issues of the franchise , a reboot was the best option.This will completely wipe the slate clean from the old series which consisted of 4 movies from 1984-2009.Arnold Schwarzenegger's involvement is still in doubt ,and a director hasnt been attached to the project as of now.

The planned reboot will be a stand-alone trilogy ,which means it would not be made on the existing storyline.Characters such as John Connor may not be even in the movie.
Dwayne Johnson is rumoured to have a major part in the movie ,but its still a rumour.

On the other hand ,2015 is gearing upto become one hell of a summer...Check this out!

#1-Monsters University made a solid debut as it opened with a powerful $82million.This is the 4th highest debut for a animation movie with only Toy Story3,Shrek2&3 ,making bigger openings.MU made $54million overseas to bring its worldwide total to $136million.

MU is the prequel to Pixar's classic Monsters Inc (2001) ,and follows the story of how Mike & Sully met.Critics were pleased with the result and MU has been getting good reviews.The movie has a rating of 77% which in Pixar levels ,is below average.

Excluding MU ,in Pixar's 13 movies ,only 3 movies have got a rating below 90% ,Cars 1&2 [74%&39%] and Brave[78%] ,and all 3 were a far cry from the usual Pixar standards of quality story telling.

MU's reviews pales in comparisons to previous Pixar classics ,but its definitely this years best animation movie (so far).

#2-Brad Pitt returned to big budget action movies ,with his World War Z ,the latest zombie apocalypse movie.The movie made a powerful $66million domestically and $45 overseas ,to make a worldwide gross of $111million.World War Z's budget of $190million looks to be easily recoverable considering the big opening.WWZ's opening is the highest debut for a zombie flick (Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead held that record for almost 9years with a distant $26million) ,and also Brad Pitt's highest weekend debut.

Reviews for the movie was average with a rating of 67%.WWZ's altering its source material (the novel its based upon) and its uneven plot is the major criticism.Although the action and Brad Pitt's acting is praised.

#3-Man Of Steel had a steep fall of 65% as it stumbled to $41million in its second week.But with a world wide gross of $398million ,the movie has safely recovered its budget and might be able to cross $600million if it doesnt lose steam this week.

MOS has now become the highest grossing Superman movie ,beating 2006's Superman Returns ($200million).

#4-This is the End held on making $13million ,bringing its total gross to $57.7million.For a small budget movie ,TITE is a big success.

#5-Now You See Me stuck around making $7.8million in its 4th week.The movie has so far made a worldwide gross of $134million.

White House Down- JUN28

story- after a group take over the White House ,a Secret Service Agent must rescue the President.

+ Stars Channing Tatum & Jamie Foxx who are both on a good run.

- its directed by Roland Emmerich ,who is known more for his liking of destruction rather than a good story.

Heat on the other hand is directed by Paul Feig ,who directed the superb Bridesmaids.The Heat stars Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy.The trailers havnt been too funny and i think this will be a disaster.

As for WHD ,its directed by Roland (2012,Day After Tomorrow) and could be entertaining.

It isnt a shocking news as Downey is an integral part of Marvel's Avenger movies,but his contract renewal was in doubt after IronMan3.Even though no new Iron Man movies are planned as far as 2016 ,fans will atleast get to see him back in action in 2015's Avengers2

James Gandolfini passes away.

James ,most famous for his lead role in the hit TV series The Sopranos ,passed away at the age of 51 due to a heart attack.As Tony Soprano ,he rose to fame winning various awards during the shows 6 seasons.

James has done plenty of movie work as well ,last appearing in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.He also did appeared in the Oscar Nominated movie Zero Dark Thirty.

Sometimes producers get over enthusiastic about stuff and just go nuts making sequels even before the actual movie is released.Its a big gamble ,but its also inevitable.

Recent rumors are saying that not only is Man Of Steel sequel green lit ,its supposed to release NEXT YEAR!Zack Snyder (director) ,Goyer (story) and Henry Cavill (actor) are all said to be ready for the sequel ,but isnt it too soon?
I loved MOS ,and i think a sequel should definitely come out ,but only after proper planning and not a rushed attempt.Quality is ruined if the producers rush the director for a sequel.A sequel should be one that takes the series to the next level,for MOS its tough considering how high it went with the first movie itself.
For example Nolan took his time to create the Dark Knight trilogy which released in 2005,2008,2012.And each movie had a high standard of quality and outdid its predecessors.

With Justice League (A DC equivalent to Avengers) planned initially for 2015 ,its important for a DC movie to bridge the MOS series to JL.But in my opinion a sequel to MOS should be out only in 2015 or later.Justice League cannot be rushed either,it should be out after 2017 at the minimum.


On the other hand we have the Amazing Spiderman franchise that has released the dates for a 3rd AND a 4th part! Considering only the first part has been released ,that too to just above average reviews ,Sony is piling too much hope on the Part 2's performance.
In my opinion ,from the various set pics and cast ,Amazing Spiderman 2 doesnt look good.

MOS is the reboot of the first superhero movie ,Superman (1978). Written by Goyer and Nolan ,they injected Superman with the same amount of gritty realism they had given the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Majority of the critics were pleased and the movie has been getting good reviews ,even though its controversially rated rotten at Rottentomatoes with 56%.

MOS first weekend collection is the 2nd highest  of superhero origins.

Reviews say its the best comedy movie so far.

The movie has already recovered its $30million budget this weekend!

#3-Now You See Me held on to the 3rd spot making $10million this weekend.The movie has been a success so far and has already made $108million worldwide from a budget of $75million.

#4-Fast Furious 6 continued its steep fall as it fell by 55% this week. It made $9.4million this week ,just enough to become the top grossing movie of the Fast Furious series.With the exception of Tokyo Drift,the Fast Furious series has been consecutively topping its predecessors ,a very rare occurrence for a franchise.Fast Furious 6 has so far made a worldwide gross of $636million!

Monsters University 

story-The story of how Sully & Mike met ,10 years before the events of Monsters Inc.(animation)

+ PIXAR ! The animation studio has brought about multiple animated classics and this is the sequel to one of their earlier classics.

- Being a sequel to a classic carries a lot of weight.And Pixar hasnt made a classic since 2010's Toy Story 3.Cars 2 was horrible and Brave too kiddish ,can Monsters University break the bad run?

World War Z 

story-A UN employee travels around the world trying to stop the Zombie virus.

+ Brad Pitt & Running Zombies ! whats there not to like !This is an adaptation of the novel of the same name.

- The movie going over budget ($200million +) ,re-writes ,delays ,re-shoots could have made the movie a mash up of second hand work.

Both the movies have got respectable reviews.76 for WWZ ,and 87 for Monsters.But being a big fan of Pixar ,my Pick for the week will be Monsters University.Whats yours?

The origin story of the greatest superhero of all time ,Superman.

Starring- Henry Cavill,Michael Shannon,Amy Adams,Russell Crowe

Director- Zack Snyder

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman is great.He puts in a lot of effort behind the role and he is successful most of the time.You could sense the pain and loneliness behind his character ,which is essential to the tale.Amy Adams as Lois is good.She proves to be a much better representation of Lois than her earlier predecessors.Micheal Shannon as Zod is great.As a villain he is excellent and truly the best villain to face off against Superman.

On a surprising note ,Russel Crowe as Jor-El, has a good amount of scenes and hes amazing in them!Diane Lane and Kevin Costner do good as the foster parents.Theres a tight bond between Superman and both his parents (his dad and both foster parents) and the actors do an excellent job bringing it out.

The stumbling block for MOS is its story.Dont get me wrong ,its good ,but theres some heavy structural problems and thats mostly the directors fault.Other than that ,the story is engaging.The excellent depiction of Krypton and explaining Superman's powers on Earth were all done neatly.Goyer has brought in the realistic natures that were seen in The Dark Knight Trilogy and lends MOS the same ,a hard task considering the highly out of the world powers of Superman.

The relations between Superman and his parents were excellently highlighted.But his romance with Lois was not good enough.Some scenes do go a bit over the top (ex:The tornado flashback) ,and its hard to understand the choices the characters make.Zod's character was well developed and this helps in making him a great villain.

The visual effects were amazing.The Krypton sequences and especially the climax was wonderful!Music from Hans Zimmer was as usual amazing.It really gives the movie an intense atmosphere.

Direction by Zack Snyder was good.He keeps the movie packed with emotion and drama and amazing action scenes.The pace of the movie is a bit uneven at the start as it shifts back and forth from action to drama in the course of minutes ,but the latter half is fast paced and action packed.One of the issues i had with MOS was, Zack trying to 'Nolanise' the movie.The first half is riddled with jumping from the past and the present almost continuously.Juggling with timelines is best left to Nolan.Some scenes end all of a sudden and others just jump ahead without proper clarity.Editing is weak especially in the middle ,and this could irritate some viewers.

But Zack does master one aspect of the movie and thats the ACTION.I really have to talk about the action of this movie.

It was just mindblowing!!! The entire third half of the movie is one gigantic EPIC battle.I have to say that its the best superhero fight sequences ive EVER seen.Mixed with the soundtrack and the visuals ,the action is just jaw dropping.The scale of destruction was immense.It was really great to see Superman actually fighting someone that matched his powers.The finale left me speechless  

There are plenty of powerful scenes showcasing Superman's powers and all of them are spot on.Zack has made no mistake handling the action sequences ,and thats what keeps this movie afloat.

Overall ,Man Of Steel will go down as an excellent reboot of Superman made memorable with those jaw dropping action sequences.Its not perfect but its a blast!Its a must watch if you love action!

SUPERMAN is back in business

Yep and SUPERMAN is finally back in business!!

With yesterdays premiere ,reviews have started flowing in ,and im happy to say that, majority LOVE it! Starting off at 91% ,most critics say its excellent and the action is jaw dropping.Its the best Superman movie so far.The only weak point as most say is its story development.Final Judgement by RJG this Friday (hopefully).

On second news! MOS SEQUEL is Greenlit! Warner Bros are bringing back Zack Snyder & Goyer for it.Although Nolan's involvement is still doubt.Zack Snyder has been said to have signed a 3 movie deal ,which is MOS and its sequel ,and hopefully a JUSTICE LEAGUE with Superman in it!

story-Walden breaks up with Zoe.Alan & Lyndsy break up as well.Jake falls for older women.Its basically the same thing happening over and over throughout this season.

Review-

The previous season was the worst one in the shows history ,and my hopes for Season 10 was not very high.But somehow ,S10 turned out to be pretty average (which is a good thing compared to previous seasons).

Ashton's character was much better developed this time and Alan's progression into a gay character was put on hold in the second half of the season ,thankfully.The downsides are the lame jokes and dumb situations.Jake has been turned into a cameo and the show can safely be called 2Men from now.Jake's character had some interesting developments but hes not a regular anymore (except the 15sec Skype call).

The show will obviously return for another season ,but i still say it should get cancelled.

#1-Purge opened with a brilliant $36.3million ,from a budget of just $3million.This is an excellent opening for a horror-thriller movie which isnt powered by supernatural stuff.The story is of a city in the year 2022 ,which allows people to do anything illegal (like murdering people) for one night a year.

As idiotic as it sounds thats the plot.Critics werent too pleased with the result.The movie has a below average rating of 41% ,with majority complaining about the usual cliches and the silly concept.

#2-Fast Furious 6 slipped to the second spot with $19.7million.FF6 is very close to overtaking its predecessor to become the highest grossing movie of the series.Its made $203million domestically and a worldwide total of $584million (F5 made $210m and  $626m respectively).

#3-Now You See Me made a strong stand as it climbed one spot up to land at #3 making $19.5million.The movie has made $64.5million so far from domestic sources alone.Couple more weeks and an overseas release and NYSM is looking to be big hit.

#4-The Internship opened to disappointment ,making only $18million.For a movie with a budget $58million ,this is a sign of a flop.Critically the movie was even more disappointing ,with a rating of just 33%.The critics called the movie dull ,predictable and too long. This continues Vince Vaughn's poor run with the critics ,which started way back with 2005's Wedding Crashers.

#5-Animated adventure movie ,Epic continued to hold on to the Top 5 ,making $12million on its 3rd week.The movie is a hit ,making $190million worldwide from a budget of $100million.

This Is The End- JUN12

story-A group of friends unite after the world starts under going a series of apocalyptic events.

+ Star studded comedians ,James Franco ,Jonah Hill ,Seth Rogen and more star in this action comedy movie.The real life friendship between the cast will be a major high point for This Is The End.The movie is reaping great initial reviews,some say its the best comedy of 2013 so far.

- Seth Rogen isnt very consistent.While most hit the mark ,many have failed terribly too.The comedy might not connect with majority.

Man of Steel- JUN14

story-A reboot of the Superman franchise,takes a more realistic take on his origin.

+ Reboot of one of the biggest superheroes,Superman.Man of Steel has a strong backbone.Story by Goyer and produced by Nolan ,Man Of Steel carries Dark Knight's goodwill.

- Zack Snyder is a good director ,but his last widely appreciated movie was 2007's 300.Watchmen was excellent but the hype killed it ,The Owls of GaHoole and Sucker Punch were big time fails.Will his style of direction help MOS ?

My pick is ...MAN OF STEEL!

The Superman franchise dropped dead with 2006's Superman Returns.Man Of Steel is a reboot ,Batman Begins Style! A story written by Goyer (of Dark Knight Trilogy fame) has a LOT of potential behind it.But everything depends on Zack Snyder's & Henry Cavill's (who plays Superman) work.No reviews have come out so far.

This is the End has been shown to critics ,and they love it1 Currently at 88% ,many say its the best of this year

Rock for Hercules

Dwayne Rock is taking up yet another awesome role.....and its HERCULES!

Directed by Brett Ratner ,the movie will be based on the graphic novel -Hercules: The Thracian Wars.Check out the official synopsis :

"Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules. "

I dont like the sound of this at all.First its by Brett Ratner ,secondly the story sounds so cliched.Third ,the writers have removed any sort of supernatural stuff.This is an obvious attempt to make Hercules more human ,but come on! Hes a God! This is like replacing Conan (the barbarian) with Hercules. (which actually makes sense)

The movie set to release on July 25, 2014 ,and will most probably put an end to Rock's golden streak of success.

4 Awesome posters for the Hollywood remake of the Korean classic Oldboy.

Directed by Spike Lee(Malcolm X ,Inside Man) ,the 2013 version stars, Josh Brolin in the lead role ,with Sharlto Copley as the villain.

The original Oldboy (2003) ,a Korean movie ,is considered to be one of the Best Asian Movies of all time.It won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Awards 2003.

Even though the remake might not reach such high standards ,i hope the movie turns out great.

Before you watch Hangover3 ,the main thing to have in mind is that it isnt a comedy.You'll enjoy it better if you dont expect much comedy from it.

Acting from the cast was overall good.Both Zach G & Ken Jeong were great.John Goodman as the villian was good too.The acting was on par with the other two movies ,nothing too great ,but not too bad either.The cast fit their roles and thats what keeps the movie rolling.

After the disaster that was Hangover 2 ,it was most important to get the story right this time around.And what a turn around it has become.Hangover 3 barely resembles the other 2 movies ,infact it doesnt even make sense to call it Hangover.The first movie ,was a rocking comedy movie ,the second was a direct copy of the first but atleast it could be said to be of the comedy genre.But Hangover 3 is more of a action thriller.Whatever comedy the movie has, is poor ,barely laugh worthy.The story is engaging but most of the times is a bit idiotic.

Direction by Todd is average.He completely failed to make a comedy movie ,but instead made a complete opposite of what Hangover was actually about.The comedy is pretty stupid for the most part ,and has almost zero redeeming value.If you like comedy such a giraffe getting beheaded ,then you might enjoy the rest of the comic scenes.But otherwise its just awkward silence.

The pacing of the movie is fast enough and rarely has any dull moments.If you take Hangover 3 for an action thriller ,then the movie turns out to be quite interesting.Everything from the music to the way the movie unfolds, all give the look of a proper action movie.

Would i like to see a Hangover 4? Nope.After watching the post credits scene ,i dont think the movie will ever be as good as the first part.

Overall ,Hangover 3 is a disappointing comedy but is a good action thriller.Its a major improvement over the second part but still is a timepass movie.

The true story about an upcoming boxer imprisoned unfairly.

Denzel Washington always brings his best ,and in Hurricane he doesnt disappoint.His acting is excellent ,and he really absorbs the role thus manages to give it a high sense of realism.The supporting cast though under the shadow of Denzel manage to give a decent performance.

The story is based on the life of Rubin Carter,an upcoming boxing champion ,who was given 3 life sentences for the murder of 3 people.The story is motivational and Denzel's performance makes it even more solid.It keeps you engaged and hooked on from the very start itself.But the movie has been criticized for its inaccuracy.Hurricane is not entirely a sports movie ,but of a boxer whose career was cut short due to racism.

Direction by Norman is good.He holds an even pace for the movie ,and even at around 150minutes ,Hurricane never seems too long or stretched.By selecting Denzel ,he manages to tell quite a tale with Hurricane ,and captures the struggles Rubin had to go through due to racism.

Overall ,its a movie worth watching ,especially for Denzel's excellent acting.

Archie Andrews is to make his big screen debut soon!

Fans of the comic series ,Archies ,will finally get to see the whole gang get together for a movie.But theres a slight twist.

The movie is said to be set in midst of zombies.So we'll get to see Archie,Betty,Veronica,Jughead and the rest fight zombies while they go to Riverdale.

Warner Bros. have got Jason Moore ,who directed last years surprise hit Pitch Perfect ,to direct this live action version of Archies.

In my opinion this doesnt sound much of a good idea.WHat do you think? Will Archie & Zombies make a good pair?

The movie is powered by some excellent performances.First we have ,Mia Wasikowska.Stoker is not only her best performances to date ,but also one of the best of 2013.The whole movie is largely dependent on the performances of the actors, and Mia does her best in the weirdish type role.Mathew Goode plays Uncle Charlie ,and this is another strong acting you can expect from the movie.He plays the mysterious role perfectly with enough charisma.Nicole Kidman ,who is the more famous one amongst the entire movie ,only manages to do an okay job.

The story is a slow and mysterious thriller.Its fresh and will keep you guessing at all points.Rather than being a complete horror / thriller movie that most movies of this genre try to become ,Stoker instead relies on closely telling the story of the lead character ,India (Mia W).The way the story unfolds is also quite interesting.You would be expecting something else but Stoker still manages to twist stuff up.I was surprised to know that it was written by Wentworth Miller (lead actor from Prison Break).Its certainly any excellent start for him as a writer.

Direction by Park Chan-wook (most notable for his movie Oldboy) ,is excellent.He has tried the whole vampire concept with his earlier movie Thirst ,but Stoker cannot be categorized under that genre although it resembles it too closely.Park brings the best out of his cast and gives Stoker a beautiful style of presentation.Its pace is slow but quite steady.The movies intensity rises with each minute and the final portion was quite shocking. 

Overall ,Stoker isnt for casual viewers ,nor for those who are expecting a horror movie either.Its easily one of the best movies of this year.

4 friends take a trip to Manali ,where each learn about each other.

Starring- Deepika Padukone,Ranbir Kapoor,Aditya Roy Kapoor,Kalki Koechlin

Ranbir goes over the top playing a sort of casanova character.His character is pretty uneven and mainly its the scripts fault.Deepika Padukone plays a sort of different character for once.But again it isnt anything worthwhile.Kalki plays her usual type of role ,shes good at it.Aditya Roy does a good job too.

The story is downright cliched.Theres no other word for this type movie.From the start itself its cheesy.Theres a deep lack of creativity in the story.You can predict stuff miles away.Character development is poor.The story is written solely to support Ranbir's character.Changes in Deepika's characters happen overnight.The only part which was worth watching was the flashback scenes of Kabir and his family.

Direction by Ayan is a major letdown.His earlier work Wake Up Sid was fresh and featured one of Ranbir's best work.But with YJHD ,he resorts to the ideas that were tried out by almost every romantic movie in Bollywood.YJHD is a watered down version Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.On top of it the melodrama makes certain scenes unbearable.

Songs are injected into the movie for no reason.The soundtrack used is not even fitting for the movie.Throughout the first half ,music from various cartoons are used.Why its done ,is unintelligible.It lowers the standards the movie is trying to convey.On the bright side ,the songs were good.

Overall YJHD has nothing new to offer ,except some over used jokes and melodrama.

The entire cast is brought back and that itself lends some magic into F6.Dwayne Rock continues to be a fantastic action superstar.Vin Diesel is amazing as well.Michelle Rodriguez was good.Gina Carano excelled in the action sequences.Paul Walker and the rest of the cast were good.Luke Evans as Shah was not a kickass villain, but compared to past villains of the franchise ,he is relatively better.

The Fast & furious movies arent the type in which you can expect mindblowing stories.For an action movie ,F6 had a decent story although its a bit thin.Most of the plot points were just excuses to deliver action scenes.Comparatively the story isnt as tight as Fast 5 or the first F&F ,but its still an engaging ride.The middle portion is loose and a bit of plothole is formed once a twist is revealed towards the end.Theres a nice blend between the comedy and drama as well.The humour manages to keep the audience from getting buzzed out from the action and the drama.

Direction by Justin Lin was great.He found the formula for this franchise with Fast Five ,and for F6 he maximizes them to the point that they are just on the edge of being over the top.The pacing is fast but still there were some scenes that could have been cut out due to its lack of importance.But the movie is absolute fun for the fans of the series.

Action scenes were just amazing.From start to finish its back to back action ,and they did save the best for the last! The plane sequence is bound to leave you amazed.The fight scenes were powerful and its a treat to watch the Rock battle it out! The comedy was surprisingly good throughout the movie.On the downside ,killing off characters is turning into a bit of a cliche ,and some romantic dialogues could have been shortened.

Overall ,Furious 6 is another excellent addition to the F&F series.A must watch for fans and action junkies!

#1- Fast & Furious 6 slipped by a large 65% ,to make $34.5million on its second weekend.With this F6 has made $480million worldwide ,and is $120million short of overtaking Fast5.

#2- Now You See Me made $28million which was upto studio expectations.The movie stars some of Hollywood's finest actors such as Jesse Eisenberg ,Morgan Freeman,Woody Harrelson,Michael Caine along with others.But even with such talent ,the movie failed to please the critics.The movie scored only 43% ,with critics saying that the director failed to extract anything from the already weak story.

Made from a budget of $75million ,the movie's success now mainly depends on its overseas collection.

#3- After Earth was another example of wasted talent.After Earth flopped hard with just $27million.With a budget of $130million AE is turning out into a big disaster.After Earth panned by critics ,scoring just 12%.This is director Shyamalan's second worst score after his previous attempt ,Airbender (6%) ,while its Will Smith's lowest scoring movie in his almost 30year career.After Earth's main issue seems to be its slow pace and poor direction.

#4- Star Trek Into Darkness suffered another steep fall as it made just $16.4million in its 3rd week.With this the movie has currently made a gross total of $328million which is somewhat par to that of its predecessor.

#5- Epic also made $16.4million.The animated kids adventure movie has so far made $150million thus safely making up its budget of $100million.

The latest entry into Top 5 was Fast Furious 6 ,which has enough power to boost even further up the list to #3 by this week.

This week we have a comedy and a horror-thriller.Both are uninteresting so not gonna choose any.

1-The Purge-Starring Ethan Hawke ,the movie has a strange concept.The movie is about a day on which everyone can do whatever crime they want to do.The trailer was interesting but the concept is too weak.Initial reviews give it 63%

2-The Internship brings the Wedding Crashers team ,Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn together.Its about two unemployed guys who compete against each other at an internship.

Mendes back for Bond

There had been much speculation about who the next director for James Bond would be.At one stage it was rumored it would be Nolan (TDK,Inception) ,even Nicolas (Drive) was considered.But finally ,Sam Mendes was brought back.

Sam Mendes directed James Bond 23 aka Skyfall (the 8th highest grossing movie of all time) ,and its being said Mendes is a lock for not only James Bond 24 ,but also for James Bond 25!

MAY packed in 7 anticipated movies out of which only 3 pleased the critics while making money (IronMan3,StarTrek2,FastFurious6).

JUNE has less number of anticipated movies ,but chances of scoring more great movies are high! This is the End & World War z has already been getting good reviews.White House Down is a wildcard and most likely to make money while being panned by critics.But the 2 biggest draws are Pixar's MONSTERS UNIVERSITY and Nolan's MAN OF STEEL directed by Snyder (300).Are you ready for JUNE ?

Here is my early analysis on the 5 anticipated movies of JUNE 2013.

This Is The End- JUN12

story-A group of friends unite after the world starts under going a series of apocalyptic events.

+ Star studded comedians ,James Franco ,Jonah Hill ,Seth Rogen and more star in this action comedy movie.The real life friendship between the cast will be a major high point for This Is The End.The movie is reaping great initial reviews,some say its the best comedy of 2013 so far.

- Seth Rogen isnt very consistent.While most hit the mark ,many have failed terribly too.The comedy might not connect with majority.

Man of Steel- JUN14

story-A reboot of the Superman franchise,takes a more realistic take on his origin.

+ Reboot of one of the biggest superheroes,Superman.Man of Steel has a strong backbone.Story by Goyer and produced by Nolan ,Man Of Steel carries Dark Knight's goodwill.

- Zack Snyder is a good director ,but his last widely appreciated movie was 2007's 300.Watchmen was excellent but the hype killed it ,The Owls of GaHoole and Sucker Punch were big time fails.Will his style of direction help MOS ?

Monsters University- JUN21

story-The story of how Sully & Mike met ,10 years before th events of Monsters Inc.(animation)

+ PIXAR ! The animation studio has brought about multiple animated classics and this is the sequel to one of their earlier classics.

- Being a sequel to a classic carries a lot of weight.And Pixar hasnt made a classic since 2010's Toy Story 3.Cars 2 was horrible and Brave too kiddish ,can Monsters University break the bad run?

World War Z- JUN21

story-A UN employee travels around the world trying to stop the Zombie virus.

+ Brad Pitt & Running Zombies ! whats there not to like !This is an adaptation of the novel of the same name.The movie has been getting good initial reviews!

- The movie going over budget ($200million +) ,re-writes ,delays ,re-shoots could have made the movie

White House Down- JUN28

story- after a group take over the White House ,a Secret Service Agent must rescue the President.

+ Stars Channing Tatum & Jamie Foxx who are both on a good run.

- its directed by Roland Emmerich ,who is known more for his liking of destruction rather than a good story.
