Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (2012)

[Another garbage from Bollywood]

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (2012)
IMDB-6.2
RJG Rating-10

2 desperate friends travel to Goa hoping their lives would change for the better.

Starring- Ritesh Deshmukh ,Tusshar Kapoor
Director- Sachin Yardi

KSKHH is a stand alone sequel to 2005's Kyaa Kool Hain Hum ,which for some weird reason i dont understand, is called a cult comedy movie.

Tushar & Ritesh are the two main leads of the movie and both give average performances, with Ritesh being the better one of the duo.The female leads ,Neha & Sarah Jane are utterly useless and have no acting skills what so ever.

KSKHH has no story and rely solely on its string of adult jokes through out its 137min running time.
For a movie that depends solely on comedy, its in tragic shape. The adult comedy which was promoted as the highlight of the whole movie is hopeless. The jokes used are the ones that you read on the net or sms ,using them to make a movie is plain idiocy and people who enjoy this movie are idiots as well. The actors delivering these jokes make them look even more out of place by their terrible acting.
The jokes seem to have been selected just for being an adult joke and not based on their wit or for being funny.

Direction is poor. For such a movie a director is not even needed. Its so poorly made.
While many may compare this movie to Hollywoods string of adult comedies ,it should be noted that even though they too have terrible adult comedy movies ,they atleast have a story ,which sadly KSKHH doesnt have.

The music used may be nonsense but its the only thing that is good in this whole movie.

Overall,KSKHH is definitely not a movie for a sensible viewer ,its more enjoyable if you just like dumb movies.

Cars 2 (2011)

[an unwanted sequel]

Cars 2 (2011)
IMDB-6.4

RJG Rating-40

Mater ,a tow truck ,gets mistaken for a spy and gets caught up in a conspiracy against the latest alternative fuel,Allinol.

Starring- Owen Wilson ,Larry the Cable Guy,Michael Caine
Director- John Lasseter

Pixar for the past 15 years have set the standard for animation movies.Every movie of theirs are noted for its advanced animation technique as well as for its endearing characters and amazing stories. In 2006,Pixar released Cars. The audience were quick to notice that something was missing. But Pixar mended the situation by making more top class movies and the whole Cars situation was forgotten. But in 2011,Pixar released the sequel,Cars 2,its 12th movie and John Lasseter's 5th directorial venture.

The animation was excellent.Pixar once again delivered great animation but failed to bring out a sensible movie.Pixar's brilliance is noticeable in the various action scenes.

The story is different and actually is kind of good ,but where it does fail is in the various plot holes and cheesy scenes. The writers have tried to bring out a different twist to the Cars series ,and spoofs plenty of Bond and other spy movies ,while this is fun at times ,no likeable characters are present to shoulder the scenes.Cars 2 doesnt feature any memorable scenes. The character that i hated most from Cars,Mater the Tow-truck,is the lead hero of the story.Lightning McQueen is more of a supporting character. The spy ,Finn McMissile (Micheal Caine), was the only character that actually turned out to be good.Any scene with Mater was just horrible and cliched.

John Lasseter ruins his memorable Toy Story career by making such a movie .Cars 2 is just another normal animated movie. His attempt to take the Cars series in another direction is noteworthy but his failure to make a good movie is a sad fact.

The soundtrack was great but the comedy was stale most of the time.

On release ,Cars 2 broke Pixar's streak of gaining universal praise. It was Pixar's first rotten movie getting 38%.Many have said it was Pixar's attempt to make quick cash from the Cars merchandise ,which is a sad thing to hear about a studio well known to bringing the best animated movies of all time.
Cars2 also disappointed in the box office and became Pixar's lowest grossing movie since Bugs Life.the first Pixar movie to fail in America.
It also became the first Pixar movie to not get nominated at the Oscars.

Overall ,Cars 2 has a kiddish storyline with the same old cliched scenes. Its not worthy to be called a Pixar movie.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

[a touching tale ,a fitting end to the classic series]

Toy Story 3 (2010)
IMDB- 8.5 (Top 250: #48)
RottenTomatoes- 99
RJG Rating- 100

The toys are mistakenly sent to Sunnyside Daycare.

Starring- Tom Hanks ,Tim Allen ,Joan Cusack
Director- Lee Unkrich

Toy Story 3 is Pixar's 11th and the final part of the Toy Story trilogy. It reunites a major section of the main cast and brings along a large new cast of toys.Unlike the previous 2, Toy Story 3 was directed by Lee Unkrich (co-directer of Toy Story 2,Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc) ,since John Lasseter was busy with Cars 2.

Animation from Pixar was top notch. The beauty and detail can be clearly seen in each scene.During Toy Story 1 & 2,Pixar hadnt mastered human animation ,but after its success in Incredibles ,Up etc Pixar uses more human characters and gives them a major role in Toy Story3.With more toy characters animation looks absolutely fantastic.

Toy Story 3's story doesnt falter or disappoint. It has the same excitement and level of fun the previous 2 films had.In addition to this ,Toy Story 3 also increases the intensity of the story. The 3rd part takes on a much larger scale.Pixar's objective to please kids as well as grown ups is very much noticeable.Toy Story 3 spoofs heist movies this time ,and its done wonderfully. The way the story pans out is beautiful yet exciting.

Direction from Lee ,equals that of Lassetter and manages to keep Toy Story 3 running in the same vein as the previous movies. This part also increases the emotional content and there are plenty of heart touching scenes. The climax is emotionally charged and the movie signs out with perfection.Toy Story 3 reaches upto the classic levels of the first part and ends up completing one of Hollywoods rarities - A perfect trilogy.

On release ,the movie was a raging success worldwide. It was the highest grossing movie of the year 2010.And the only animated movie to make more than $1 billion making it the highest grossing animated movie of all time.
Toy Story also raked up universal praise ,and was nominated for Best Picture Oscar ,making it the 3rd animated movie ever in the history of Oscars to be nominated for a Best Picture Award.Toy Story 3 earned Pixar its 4th consecutive and 6th overall, Best Animated Movie Oscar.

Overall ,Toy Story 3 is an instant classic ,a must watch !

This trailer was absolutely just awesome.Action packed and Intense.I think this can really turn up to be a great movie !

The Hobbit now a Trilogy !

Wonderful news from The Hobbit

Peter Jackson has announced that The Hobbit will be made into a trilogy rather than 2 parts. The first 2 parts are to be released on Dec 14 2012 and Dec 13 2013 .The third part is expected to be released in 2014.

This isnt the first time such a thing has happened with Peter.Lord of The Rings was initially expected to be released in 2 parts but due to the epic nature of the source material and in order to fully capture the richness of the journey ,LOTR was made into a trilogy.

Jackson has given the same explanation for the Hobbit.Heres his full letter to the fans:

"It is only at the end of a shoot that you finally get the chance to sit down and have a look at the film you have made. Recently Fran, Phil and I did just this when we watched for the first time an early cut of the first movie - and a large chunk of the second. We were really pleased with the way the story was coming together, in particular, the strength of the characters and the cast who have brought them to life. All of which gave rise to a simple question: do we take this chance to tell more of the tale? And the answer from our perspective as the filmmakers, and as fans, was an unreserved ‘yes.'

We know how much of the story of Bilbo Baggins, the Wizard Gandalf, the Dwarves of Erebor, the rise of the Necromancer, and the Battle of Dol Guldur will remain untold if we do not take this chance. The richness of the story of The Hobbit, as well as some of the related material in the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, allows us to tell the full story of the adventures of Bilbo Baggins and the part he played in the sometimes dangerous, but at all times exciting, history of Middle-earth.

So, without further ado and on behalf of New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Wingnut Films, and the entire cast and crew of “The Hobbit” films, I’d like to announce that two films will become three.

It has been an unexpected journey indeed, and in the words of Professor Tolkien himself, "a tale that grew in the telling."

Cheers,

Peter J"

What do you think ? Can Jackson really recreate the magic again ?
