Kick-Ass 2 Greenlit

Kick Ass was one of the best movies of 2010.It was adapted for the big screens by director Mathew Vaughn ,from the comic books written by Mark Miller.The movie was a hit with critics as with the public.

Immediately after the movie,Mark Miller started work on writing Kick Ass 2 for the comic books.Even though it was expected to be a done deal having the sequel to the movie,it took Universal Pictures till last week to officially give the green light to making Kick Ass 2.
Director Mathew Vaughn being busy with directing a sequel of X-Men First Class wont be returning to directing the sequel.But he has already selected a director ,Jeff Wadlow (director of Never Back Down) ,and also adapted a screenplay for the movie.
Kick Ass 2 will bring back the main characters ,KickAss,HitGirl & RedMist along with the actors who portrayed them in the original (Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz). The story is adapted from Mark Miller's Kick Ass 2 ,and deals with KickAss & HitGirl recruiting more superheroes.
The movie will begin shooting this September ,and is given a release date of May 2013.
