Stranger Tides is not an exact continuation of the events of the previous POTC trilogy,its more of a fresh start for Jack Sparrow with new supporting casts.The movie was one of the most anticipated movies of 2011 but unfortunately it failed to gain critical acclaim like those for the previous 3.

Johnny Depp returns once again as the iconic Jack Sparrow.Its safe to say that hes the only highlight of this movie.But yet the movie's lack of proper story takes a heavy toll on Jack Sparrow.So in Stranger Tides ,we have Jack Sparrow running around and having sword fights but thats as far as we get to the old Jack Sparrow.The dull story manages to make the most exciting character seem dull.Somehow as each movie progresses ,Jack Sparrow has become younger and less menacing compared to the Curse of the Black Pearl (POTC 1).The supporting cast includes Penelope Cruz & Geoffrey Rush.While Geoffrey (Barbossa) gives an ok performance,Penelope disappoints.

Before watching Stranger Tides ,i had considered Worlds End(POTC 3) to be the worst POTC movie.But upon watching this movie,i was much more appreciative of Worlds End.There is absolutely no decent story in Stranger Tides.Its an awful collage of previous Pirates movies mixed together with cliches and lazy writing.The story brings up one dimensional characters and useless twists.

Direction by Rob Marshall is completely a waste.Known for his musical movies such as Chicago,Memoirs of a Geisha ,Rob Marshall is out of place in an action movie such as that of the Pirates series.The 2hr movie is stretched to such a point that the viewers feel tortured for seeing this monstrosity.The movie was one of the most dullest and boring movies of 2011.

On release Pirates failed to win the audience like before and resulted in poor domestic collection compared to the other Pirate movies.But the movie was a giant hit overseas and earned more than thrice the domestic collection .This made POTC4 the second movie,after POTC2 (Dead Man's Chest) ,in the POTC series to enter the Billion Dollar league.

Overall,this is one of the worst & boring movies of all time.Miss at all costs.

MTV Movie Awards 2012

I wasnt planning to post this here ,since in my eyes Mtv Movie awards is just a waste of an awards show.Anyways this year was no different,the show sucked.Atleast Twilight didnt dominate all the awards.One thing that was very evident ,was that the new heartthrob of the MTV voters is definitely ,Hunger Games.

Russel Brand ,the host, was the worst host ive ever seen.Its ok to drop some crude humour once in a while,but Russel's entire hosting revolved around dick jokes.

The only highlights of the entire show was the jaw dropping presentation of the new trailer for Dark Knight Rises.Christian Bale,Gary Oldman,Joseph Gordon & Nolan came up on stage and did a quick intro.It got a bit emotional up there when Bale got a bit choked up after seeing Heath Ledger in a montage of Batman begins & Dark Knight.

Another highlight was Johnny Depp showcasing his musical side.

Out of all the presenters ,Emma Stone was the best.As for the worst presenter it was definitely Kristen Stewart who failed to deliver some jokes and again made an awkward speech when she won for Best Kiss.

Dark Shadows fails to Impress

Dark Shadows ,the new Depp-Burton collaboration has not struck a chord with the critics.Early reviews for the movie say Dark Shadows fails to stick with a proper plot and tends to be very dull and dragging.

This seems to be another low for Johnny Depp whose recent movies have all been critically dull.Its been a long time since a movie starring Depp has been awesome (2007's Sweeney Todd and 2005's Charlie & The Chocolate Factory being the last 2 great movies of his).

Rowan Atkinson returns for the sequel as Johnny English...The sequel is a little more better than the first part,with more action scenes and a much better characterization of the main hero ,Johnny..
The movie fails in its story and direction...But this will have zero impact if the viewer is a Rowan/Johnny English fan...
The presence of Rowan is what makes this movie run.The supporting cast is just ok...
The comedy is the usual "stupid but lucky " kind,and may not find favor amongst everyone..
Watch it if you are a fan....if not, it may bore you...
