Warner Brother Executives have revealed that Liam Neeson will be reprising his role from Batman Begins, in TDKR...Liam Neeson had played Ras Al Ghul in Batman Begins..Nolan had recently shown a rough cut of TDKR to the WB executives..
The Intouchables (2011) -- French IMDB- 8.4 (Top 250: #187) RJG Rating- 100
A story about the friendship between 2 completely different people..
Starring- Omar Sy,François Cluzet Director- Eric Toledano , Olivier Nakache
Intouchables is a true story of Philippe ,a rich aristocrat who is
paralysed from neck down and Driss ,an unemployed man coming from a
poverty stricken family..
Francois & Omar as the lead cast give a superb performance ..
The charismatic Omar (Driss) is just amazing..His very presence on
screen is powerful as he juggles between rib-tickling comedy and some
serious drama...Francois (Philippe) is on par with Omar...He gives a
very controlled performance and is able to hold strong against Omar's
contrasting character.Considering,Francois had to act as a quadriplegic, he has done an amazing job..His expressions itself substitute any needs of dialogues.. The bond the two develop is pure gem.
Story is smooth and never drags..It could have been an intense drama
movie, but the directors usage of comedy made it stand out from other
similar stories..Direction is sharp & the movie doesnt rely on any
over the top scenes..
The music is beautifully blended into the movie and it enhances the effectiveness of many scenes...
The Intouchables can be described by one word..Beautiful...The movie is a must watch for all..
Rahul, son of a upper class socialite family, loses his job..Hiding this
news from his parents,he tries to find one before they get to know about
this..This is when he gets drunk & marries a carefree Riana..
EMAET isnt the typical Bollywood movie...It more likely follows in the
footsteps of the romantic comedies of Hollywood..And this is a welcome
change for the Indian audience..
Imran Khan gives a similar
character as his previous movies (IHLS,BKB)..Naive,quiet and robotic at
times...But hes once again able to pull it off...Kareena on the other
hand seems to be playing her character from Jab We Met....Fortunately
shes able to act this time properly unlike her previous movies...Boman
Irani shines as the strict ,no-nonsense parent..
Story looks
like a typical Bollywood movie at times predictable..But its treated in
Hollywood fashion..The comedy is fresh for Indian movies...
The songs are well pictured but it seems theres too much of them, and some could have been avoided or cut short..
The movie seems romantic but yet its not a fully fledged romantic movie...
Jeff's medication has an egoistic side effect while Abed's obsession reaches a peak..
Community is back with a bang this time..The first half lagged a bit
but the second half was a laugh riot..The entire cast was super charged
this time...Another thing is that this episdoe is just the beginning for
bigger things to come in the next couple episodes..
Ghost Adventures [6x03] The Copper Queen Hotel and the Oliver House
TV com rating- [unavailable] RJG Rating-5
The crew visit 2 locations this time...The Oliver House is said to have
poltergeistic activities while the Copper Queen is haunted by the
ghosts of a kid and a woman...
Double Lockdowns are never
good..Because it always is half done without any proper
investigations...But this time the crew really screwd up big
time...Usually they have 20min of introduction and 20min of
investigation...At-least during double lockdowns the introduction time
should be cut down, instead they show some totally unrelated stuff and
time-pass the first 20min..The Oliver House seemed to be a complete
waste of time, but Copper Queen did show some signs..But just when the
really big moment of investigation should have taken place they wrap up
the show..
Liz's script for the Avery movie troubles Jack...While Jenna's song gets parodied by Weird Al Yankovic..
Back to back episodes from 30 rock, and this one is just as good as the
previous one...Alec Baldwin & Tina Fey really rocked this episode
and the surprise cameo by Alec's brother was superb...
Jack attempts to create awareness for Avery's situation by making a TV
movie about her..Kennath has troubles staying away from his paging
duties at TGS,this creates conflicts between him and Hazel..
Another fun episode from 30 rock...The comedy seems to have steadied and
its back to the good old 30 rock humour..Kennath seems to have a much
better role this season and hes doing great...Jenna too was quite good
this episode..
Hunger Games opened with $155million at the box office this weekend...The 3rd best of all time ! Already expected to be a big blockbuster Hunger Games has won favor among critics, fans & the general public..

An evil king ,Hyperion, searches for the Epirus Bow , while a poor peasant ,Theseus plans vengeance against Hyperion..
Starring- Henry Cavill,Mickey Rourke,Freida Pinto Director- Tarsem Singh
Immortals were heavily promoted by relating it to another stylized
action spectacle -300...Even though Immortals fail to reach the formers
standards ,it nonetheless is action packed...
Henry Cavill
(Theseus) plays the lead and hes pretty much more of an action hero than
a complete actor..But this could be since his role limits his
capabilities... Mickey Rourke as Hyperion is a disappointment and i
felt he was not suited for the role..Likewise Freida Pinto too gave a
stale performance...Luke Evans as Zeus was great...
The main
issue with the movie is its story..Its completely different from the
Greek mythology and any comparisons between the two are nonsensical...
The first half is a bit dragging but the fights that take place every
now and then manages to keep the viewer engaged...The movie ends up a
bit confusing towards the end..
Direction was average...Tarsem
was able to recreate a stylized film which does remind of 300..Infact
some dialogues felt like ripped out of 300 ("Their numbers count for
nothing in the tunnel")..
The visual effects & the action
scenes are the main highlight of the movie..Both reach their peaks at
the climax...Such scenes are reminders of 300 ,but they seem inferior to
it somehow..Maybe its because of the various times the director went
over board with the visuals... Special mention to the action scenes of the Gods..Those were brilliant..
Overall ,even though Immortals isnt a must watch, action junkies & fans of 300 will appreciate this movie..
Acting-3.5/5 Story-2.5/5 Direction-3/5 Action-4.5/5 Special Effects-4.5/5
Disney has reported that John Carter would cause them a loss of a staggering $200million...
Even though the movie is doing well in foreign markets and has
recovered about $180million worldwide, its the huge budget of $350
million (Production+Marketing) that has brought the movie down...
If so ,John Carter makes the record for the biggest flop of all time..
John Carter was directed by Andrew Stanton who is well known for his
previous 2 movies ,Wall-E & Finding Nemo..His credentials also
include writing for the Toy Story series & also Monsters Inc....But
unlike Brad Bird (who directed 2011 hit Mission Impossible 4) ,this
Pixar hero couldnt make his impression on live action movies..
Plans for a sequel have also been dropped disappointing many fans..
We Bought a Zoo (2011) IMDB-7.3 RottenTomatoes-66 RJG Rating-90
Recently widowed Benjamin Mee,wants to restart his life...So he buys a
house away from the city...But this house comes with a surprise..It has a
zoo in the backyard..
Starring- Matt Damon ,Scarlett Johanson Director- Cameron Crowe
WBOA is another sweet movie from the director that brought us Jerry McGuire,Vanilla Sky,Say Anything among others..
Matt Damon gives another charming performance in the main role..He
hasnt dissappointed us for a long time....Scarlett Johanson joins him in
giving a perfect supporting role..Special mentions to the 2 kids ,Colin
& Maggie who just add to the cuteness of the whole movie..
The story isnt too deep & it offers the viewers a straight forward
movie ,which is easy to follow ,yet keeps us engaged in the
proceedings... The whole movie is beautiful from start to
finish...The amazing cinematography captures the beauty of the whole
park and the atmosphere..
The movie is a perfectly balanced
mixture of both the drama & the comedy genre..Its one of those sweet
movies that you could just sit back and enjoy with the whole
family...A must-watch...
Two And A Half Men [9x19] Palmdale, Ech TV com Rating-7.8 RJG Rating-6
Alan meets Evelyn's mother ,while Jake & Eldridge try to impress Walden with their 'innovative' ideas..
For the first time this season,Alan is given more priority than
Walden...Thankfully it all goes well..COmedy was on the average side..It
was nice to see the lead cast members [Jake gets a substantial role
this time] getting to share equal screentime..But overall it doesnt
seem this season will ever reach the heights the show set up with
Charlie...
Walking Dead [2x13] Beside the Dying Fire TV com Rating-8.9 RJG Rating-5
The survivors try to put up a stand against a huge army of zombies..
This episode should have been the best considering it had the only
good thing Season2 ever offered--Zombie Slaughter..But once again they
screw it up.. What would a normal person do when faced with hundreds
of zombies & all you have is limited ammo & a couple of getaway
vehicles? Run off....This piece of common sense occurs to the group
only after they almost run out of ammo... Carl & Lori being the 2 most irritating characters have their own respective scenes of utter insanity..
The climax had 2 twists...Both arent much of spoilers,so here it
goes..Rick says the whole group is infected and they would turn into
zombies when they are killed..Incase you havnt got the twist here, You
dont need to be bitten by a zombie to be a zombie (as seen in the case
of Shane)...(or im mistaken here,Rick just says one line on it) If Season 2 was people stuck at a barn ,Season 3 will be that of the survivors stuck at a prison..Sigh.. Out of all the chaotic scenes,Andrea's fate was nicely depicted..Too bad it was too short...
Overall S2 was a BIG BIG disappointment considering it followed the
brilliant S1...S2 wasted time showing over the top melodrama +
irritating characters (Carl & Lori) + tons of stupid decisions... I hope S3 is cancelled if it plans to follow in the footsteps of S2..
How I Met Your Mother [7x19] The Broath TV com rating-8.7 RJG rating-6
Barney & Quinn share some big news with the group.. Even though this episode was good,it wasnt great...It was unusally more of drama and used some recycled comedy..
Even though HIMYM seems to be trying to break itself from the obviously
boring episodes,it just cant do it anymore..The biggest symptom was the
Ceaser story by Barney...In previous seasons, this would have been
hilarious, but here it was just a time filler...The climax didnt have ANY
punch (Barney pulling a con)...But the Robin story might have a big twist soon..
Cam attends his mentor's funeral while Phil runs into his biggest business rival..
Not the best from Modern Family..The stories were fresh but something
was missing from its final pitch...Phil's story was nice ,while Jay's
& Gloria's was ended too soon..Cam's story could also have been put
up well..
Community [3x11] Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts
TV com Rating-6.3 RJG Rating-6.5
Shirley & Andre plan to remarry and gives Annie & Britta the job to prepare the wedding..
Community's return after 3months was pretty tame..The whole episode ran
a bit on the average line..The drama was a bit more than the
comedy...Community can get better than this..
The Peabody Mansion has had a bad history..Its past owners were either
evil or ended up with bad luck..During the pre investigation ,the crew
find yet another incident, a gruesome murder which has never been
investigated.. Another episode wasted away...The highlight of the
show, was the intelligent conversation conducted by the usage of the
spirit box..
Hunger Games has already raked up some highly positive reviews, debuting
RottenTomatoes at 100%..With a guaranteed $100million opening ,it is
ready to bring the first blockbuster of 2012..
