Lockout (2012)

[cheesy dialogues and plenty of overacting]

Lockout (2012)
IMDB- 6.1
Rottentomatoes- 36
RJG Ratings- 35

A wrongly convicted soldier is sent to MS One ,a prison in space.

Starring- Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace
Director- James Mather,Stephen St. Leger

Lockout's main star is Guy Pearce ,but he disappoints heavily.Guy is a great actor but unfortunately he goes overboard in Lockout. He takes the "no care" attitude over the top thus ruining many interesting scenes.Maggie Grace is the exact opposite. Her acting is half baked and poor. The two have not much chemistry either.

Lockout has an interesting concept but the story falls flat at several places. The writers seem to have bitten off more than they could chew. There are multiple conspiracies ,a riot in progress ,space adventure and even a hostage situation. And all these are poorly linked to each other.
The dialogues are all poorly written. The cheesy lines are so horrible that it sounds like it came from an 80's era movie.

Direction is generally poor. The structuring of the story is very weak and is filled with plotholes.Visual effects used in the movie is just average, and many are poorly used.On a positive note ,the movie isnt dull ,thanks to some action scenes.

Overall ,Lockout requires you to switch off your brains to enjoy this movie. Its just a timepass movie.

Acting- 1/5
Story- 2/5
Direction- 2.5/5
Action- 3.5/5
