Despicable eliminates Rangers & Monsters

#1-Despicable Me 2 had a wonderful start as it blasted off to making $82million in its first weekend.Its opening was on par with Monsters University ,and is currently the 4th biggest debut for an animated movie.
Despicable Me 2 follows the latest adventures of villain-turned hero ,Gru and his league of adorable minions.Critics were very much pleased with the result giving the movie a positive 75%.
So far the movie has made $142million domestically within 5 days ,and $151million overseas ,giving it a gross total of $293million!Made at a simple budget of $76million ,this sequel has already been declared a blockbuster!
#2-Although the same cant be said for Disney's Lone Ranger.The movie slumped and hit the rocks pretty bad ,making just $29million.The Johnny Depp starrer ,was completely out gunned by Despicable as it staggered to make a worldwide total of $72million.
Critics heavily panned the movie ,complaining about the poor story ,bloated action sequences and the lengthy duration of the movie.It holds a rotten rating of just 25%.This makes it Depp's 6th rotten movie in a row (excluding the animated Rango).His last highly rated movie was 2007's Sweeney Todd.
But Depp is an international box office gold and most of his domestic flops have been saved by the international market.But Ranger's huge budget of $215million is a daunting task for Depp fans.
#3-The Heat slid to 3rd with $25million.The movie is doing very well and doesnt seem to have been caught in the firing line of Despicable Me 2.Heat has made $92million worldwide so far and is still growing.
#4-Monsters University was brought crashing down by this weeks entries.The movie made $19.5million ,bringing its worldwide total to $400million.Its now the 12th highest grossing Pixar movie out of 14 movies.Still a long way to go ,but it seems tough with the strong competition.
#5-World War Z is enjoying its time as it made $18million this weekend.The zombie movie easily recovered its budgets and has enough money to calm down and start planning for its sequel.The movie has so far made $366million.

My analysis on Pacific Rim
story-When Monsters from the oceans arise , humans build giant robots to defend themselves.
+ This is acclaimed director ,Del Toro's first movie since 2008's Hellboy 2.The trailers looks great,action scenes and visuals look awesome too.
- Chance of being all visuals ,dull story.
Grown Ups2
story-After moving his family back to his old hometown,Lenny (Adam Sandler) finds trouble following him.

- The cast are actors who barely have any good movies in their resume.Adam Sandler has not been in a good movie since 2009's Funny People.The original Grown Ups has a rating of 9%.Trailers look awful.Director Dennis Dugan hasnt made even one positively reviewed movie in his life!
My obvious pick of the week is---------PACIFIC RIM!!
