[stale and predictable]
Cheaper By The Dozen (2003)
IMDB- 5.6
RottenTomatoes- 23
RJG Rating- 25
A couple and their 12 kids move into a new house ,causing mass chaos within the family.
Starring- Steve Martin,Bonnie Hunt
Director- Shawn Levy
Cheaper by The Dozen stars comic star Steve Martin and is adapted from
the book bearing the same name. But in reality it doesnt bear any
resemblance with the book other than the fact of a couple having 12
kids.
Acting from the group was ok.Steve Martin gives the same
performance he usually gives in all his comedy movies.Out of the 12
kids,Hillary Duff & Alyson Stoner give a good performance.
Story is completely predictable. There is a complete lack of originality
in CBTD.Its easy to predict the entire movie by watching the first 10-15
min of the movies (for some 5min is enough). The movie is filled to the
brim with the usual family story cliches ,and added to this ,there are
many thoughtless actions taken by the characters.
Direction by
Shawn Levy is overall poor. The movie could easily have put such a great
concept into better usage. But instead of doing so,Shawn takes the
slapstick route and caters the movie exclusively for kids below 13.The
comedy is stale and cliched.
Overall the movie is too kiddish for the grown ups,but the movie will be a timepass view for families.
