Underworld Awakening is the sequel to Underworld 2.And just like the previous 3 movies ,it too is idiotic and over the top.
Kate Beckinsale was once a great actresses ,but seeing her in this shows how much worse she has become.Her attempts at acting even the most simplistic of scenes are pathetic.The supporting cast supports her with equally ,and at times ,worse acting.
The story isnt anything new.Whatever the previous 3 Underworlds tried to make a story of is completely wiped off from the slate.The rest of the movie is sort of just bland and dull.Towards the end ,its like ,what happened.Half the movie goes by showing the lead running and killing people.The second half is just too dumb for words.
Direction is horrible.The pacing of the movie is completely off.With tons of fight scenes (for no reason),the movie barely seems interesting.The fights are all just slash and blast routine.
Another torturous part of watching this movie was the cliched scenes between mother & daughter.
The visual effects too dont bring any positivity for this movie.Underworld 1 & Underworld 3 are the only parts worth watching.While the 4th part is definitely the worst of the series.
Skip this movie ,its not worth the time.
