Tony Stark finds his life scarred by memories, as a new villain wrecks havoc across the country.
Starring- Robert Downey Jr ,Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow,Ben Kingsley
Director- Shane Black
He has never disappointed with the role ,and he never does in this movie either.Im speaking about Robert Downey Jr ,who reprises his role of Tony Stark aka Ironman.Robert is at complete ease throughout IM3 ,and unlike the previous movies ,Robert gives a more deeper look into the character of Tony Stark.According to the promos ,youll notice that the villain is called Mandarin ,played by Ben Kingsley. As an actor ,Ben has done a great job ,but he never does get to complete the intense role.Ben's Mandarin will be a forgotten role in times to come.Back up villain ? Thats where Guy Pearce comes! Now he completely rocked the movie.Amazing performance by him ,and he is hands down the best villain from the Marvel Phase 1,2 series.Gwyneth Paltrow ,Rebecca Hall ,Don Cheadle ,Ty Simpkins (the kid) all do a good job.
The biggest flaw in my opinion is the story.Dont get me wrong ,its still a great story compared to previous Marvel movies ,but on closer observation its a hastily compiled story. At every point the story takes a convenient turn ,and stays predictable most of the time. The big 'twist' though hilarious ,completely ruins the intensity factor the movie's first half was building up.The thought process behind various scenes are missing. The end was rushed and completely goes against whatever the previous movies tried to tell.On the positive side ,theres plenty of Tony Stark. It was great to see him rely less on the suit for much of the movie.
Shane Black does a fine job handling the Iron Man franchise. He does a much much better job than Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2.He tries to give the movie a darker tone ,and the way he handled the Mandarin in the first half was excellent. But by the second half he lets the comic side in him let loose ,as he dumps the intensity for humour. The climax was really poor ,since it raised more questions than answers. The movie isnt too long ,and thus a rushed ending is questionable.Shane wraps up everything he unleashed in the course of a couple of minutes.
The action scenes were great. The Malibu House Attack ,Backup Suit Army Fight were awesome. The visual effects on the suit were stepped up a notch with the Mark42 suit assembling piece by piece on Tony's command.
Overall IM3 ,is a great addition to the Marvel series ,but it doesnt fulfill its potential to have been great.Die hard fans wont be disappointed!

Ivan Vanko vows to make the Stark family pay for what they did to his father.
Starring- Robert Downey Jr. ,Mickey Rourke ,Sam Rockwell
Direction- Jon Favreau
Jon Favreau returns to direct this sequel of the hit 2008 movie ,Ironman. The movie's events takes place just a couple of months after the ending of the first part.
In the acting department ,Robert steals the show once again.Although i felt his performance in the first movie was better.Anyways Robert is the life of the movie and any scene without him his lackluster.Mickey Rourke plays Whiplash/Ivan and is the primary villain. But he is just terrible. He gives an utterly drunken performance and his dialogues are barely heard through his sluggish delivery. As a villain he is a complete failure.Sam Rockwell plays a competitor of Tony Stark ,and he gives a good performance.Don Cheadle replaces Terence Howard as Rhodes.Terence had a done a great job in the first movie and his replacement was completely unnecessary. While Don is a good actor ,he fails to fill the shoes of Terence and ends up as another poor actor in this movie. The women ,Gwyneth & Scarlett dont have much to do.Scarlett has just one fight scene ,and the rest is of her walking here and there with a fake European accent.
The story for Iron Man 2 is ambitious and tries to include Starks alcoholic problems (which was a major story arc in the comics) ,but it turns out to be a stumbling block for the movie. The entire alcoholic event is wrapped up in one scene which makes it seem like a forced execution. The rest of the story is very poor. The villain,Whiplash is a poorly drawn up character and is pretty useless. The solution to Stark's problem was another easy escape for the writers.
Jon Favreau makes a mess of whatever he had managed to accomplish in the first Iron Man.He tries to force too much stuff into the film and this caused it to get bloated. The lighter side of Tony Stark makes way for a darker tale, which was very poorly inserted ,thanks to the underdeveloped characters.
Overall , die hard fans of the first Iron Man will probably like it ,but its a disappointment for others.

After being kidnapped by a terrorist group ,Tony Stark vows to fight back .
Starring- Robert Downey Jr. ,Jeff Bridges ,Gwyneth Paltrow
Direction- Jon Favreau
Iron Man is a superhero based on the Marvel comic book hero of the same name.
Robert Downey plays the titular character and he simply rocks it!The entire movie is shouldered by the charm of Robert as Iron Man.From scene one to the finale its all Robert. He was born to play this role. But when you have such a powerful actor in the movie ,he just overshadows everyone else.Gwyneth is ok as Pepper Potts ,she tries her best in the role.Jeff Bridges as the ,Obadiah/Iron Monger , is passable.Terence Howard as Rhodes gives a good performance.
The story for IronMan is tightly knit and solid. It doesnt pull of many twists but it paints a good origin story ,followed up by a nice action packed tale. The main pillars of the story are the witty dialogues delivered by Robert (Ironman/Tony).But the story runs out of steam towards the end.
Direction from Jon ,is excellent. He does a great job bringing to screen the tale of Iron Man.What was once a risky move turned out to be a game changer movie for Marvel & Paramount studios.Jon manages to balance the seriousness with the fun, making the movie an enjoyable experience for all.
Bringing a comic superhero into Hollywood ,amongst other well established heroes was going to be a tough task, but no one could have predicted the kind of reaction it received. The audience and critics praised the movie and its star Robert Downey.More importantly it laid the foundation for the 2012 movie The Avengers.
Overall ,Ironman is a movie for everyone.Fun and action packed with a strong performance by Robert Downey.
