The latest news about Hobbit is of the footage shown at CinemaCon.
As you may know The Hobbit is being shot in not only 3d but also at
48fps (a normal movie is done at 24fps).For comparison,48fps is usually
used for hd sports channels.
The writers for entertainment websites,Collider,Slash & Firstshowing, discussed about it after seeing this footage.
Its being said that the Hobbit looks too damn realistic. Its like the
audience is looking into an open window into the world of The Hobbit. Its
that clear and realistic. The cinematography will be mind blowing at
48fps.But its this same reason that also is causing a bit of a
problem. Its too realistic. At 24fps ,if you swing a sword ,you could see a
sort of motion blur ,but at 48fps ,it feels very very smooth and
realistic.
The negative reaction of the audience could be
because they have seen something completely NEW.The 24fps to 48fps
difference will not be something like the difference between 2D to 3D.
Its more likely a change equivalent to black&white to color. 48fps
will be the future of cinema in 4-5 years ,and The Hobbit is just the
one thats taken the initiative to start the movement.People may find
change from 24fps to 48fps a hard thing to digest.
The
excitement for The Hobbit is said too have been dampened after the
screening ,but just to remind you ,the footage shown wasnt completed and
the movie still has to undergo post production. So maybe ,just as Bane's
voice (from The Dark Knight Rises) was fixed in post production ,Hobbit
may have yet to undergo lots of changes.
